5/6/2023 0 Comments Walmart photo prints![]() I didn't care for the Walmart store matte finish. She picks them up when she happens to be in her store. I do quite a bit of editing for my best friend who lives 800 miles away. It's so convenient to pick up the pics since Walmart is everywhere. Now I only print the things they can't (or won't). And I love it! The prints have been excellent. Even the scans were awful.I hope you are as pleased as I am. They also don’t even give you back the negatives. Ricardo Coto from Antelope California – My experience with Walmart’s Photo Center is that the pictures didn’t have the feel they should and they’re choppy. It was expired film and I thought the color shift was normal until I took a close look at my negatives a few years ago and found that there was no green shift on the Negatives so they not only poorly cut the negatives (some had a very small part of the image cut off), but they poorly scanned them. John Robert M – I processed at a local Walmart who still had one hour in my area. They do a fair job, and are $7.49 a roll for develop and CD. However, scratched slides are far too common an occurrence, and torn emulsion in negatives happens occasionally, christianartjocson – The Walmarts and targets stopped doing this in 2015 in my area (Stockton, digital_defector – All Walmarts in Canada stopped developing film in 2015. ![]() They have their own machines in Cleveland, so they have film trucks carry film from Cincy, Dayton, Columbus and Chicago to be developed in Cleveland. JR Butler – In Southern Ohio, around Hillsboro and Chillicothe, our Walmart does develop, but they send it away and keep your negatives. An hour away in Cincinnati, I use Dodd Camera who develops film. I use a local lab for all regular c-41 and B&W They told me I wouldn’t get my negatives back. Jacob M – Shreveport, Louisiana’s local Walmart returned negatives but it takes at least 2-3 weeks to get pictures back and lacked customer srvienna Went to drop off at Walmart in Monterey, CA two years ago. The printouts had a sandpaper like quality paper. So I sent my film out and walmart gave me a disc with horrible quality jpegs. For the price they charge now, it’s cheaper to use mail Jakegonz – The Walmart in my area sends it out somewhere, it takes a week to get back, the quality isn’t great but they are cheap, so the only time I use them is when I have purchased an old camera and am seeing if it snugglepaw – I looked around a year ago for somewhere to process my point and shoot, the cheapest was Walmart after asking everyone if they still processed film in store and none did. Only thing I didn’t like is they don’t return your negatives and they now print on matte paper instead of Glossy. John Lawrence – I sent to Walmart in Pasadena Texas a few times. Some were edited for readability, some grammar and brevity. Be prepared to track down a person if you need help. While nearly every town has a Walmart, their Photo Centers are typically unmanned. A common complaint was quality, both in scanning and printing and very long turnaround times. While nearly all locations don’t return negatives, Jacob M of Shreveport Louisiana reported that Walmart returns the negatives and there are likely others.ĬONS – For Film Developing, Walmart doesn’t return the negatives, and as Jake from Texas puts it “The negatives are the point!”. ![]() Walmart has one of the lowest prices for developing film, about $7.49 for a 12 exposure roll, images on a CD and a single set of prints. PROS – Because most towns has a local Walmart, they’re convenient to use for prints and film developing. For film developing, because Walmart sends film out and their photo center is generally unmanned, users have to fill out a film processing envelop and drop in a dropbox. Walmart has Kiosks for printing digital photos. Learn more about why Walmart doesn’t return film. Something to be mindful of when using Walmart for film developing is that it doesn’t return film. Common feedback with our social media poll also reported poor quality and the long turnaround, but Walmart has the best price for developing film (as low as $7.95), but everyone could’ve already guessed that. In TopTenReviews, Walmart’s Photo Center ranked 6th overall, but their print quality received the lowest ratings among the featured Top 10 Photo Centers. With over 4,672 in the United States*, Walmart Photo Centers received the most responses from our social media poll and has at least twice as many searches online then the next most popular photo lab, which is Costco Photo Centers. ![]()

Oh, and one more thing: All five games in The Jackbox Party Pack 6 have subtitles! We’ve been wanting to add that feature for a while now and we’re happy to report that this year they’re in. It’s very satisfying to tap and drag your friends around your phone and we think even Meemaw will dig it. Even after you’ve arranged everyone, you can swap them around. You drag your friend’s name and drop them into their role. We tried out a bunch of different ways to match players with roles and the one we loved the most? A drag n’ drop. The object of this game is to assign your friends weird roles (e.g. (Don’t worry, you can also delete them if they’re too unhinged!)įor Role Models, we knew that we’d have to get creative with the controller. We added a cool new function that allows you to save your entries, so you can flip through your personal archive whenever you want. We like the idea that you can either use Dictionarium as a palate cleanser after a longer, intense game (see: Push the Button) or you can play a bunch in a row. We worked to design a three-round game that you can get in and out of in 10 minutes. With Dictionarium, we had the goal of making a quick game with a minimal learning curve. We want you to be the best alien detectives you can be, and we built a slick controller to get you there. That way, when you make your big accusation, you have exhibits A-F to back it up. Since it’s a hidden identity game where you gather data on your fellow space passengers, the controller tracks everyone’s answers and makes them available for future reference. Also, our design for how the controller (your mobile device) looks and works is our most ambitious yet. It’s our first top down isometric game and has one continuous timer. Push the Button pushed the envelope in a lot of ways. We put this in place especially to help our dear friends, streamers, keep games safe, civil, and troll-free. Introducing: passwords! If you opt for password protection, you can control who can play the game (writing jokes), while anyone with the room code can still join the audience (voting on the jokes). Because there is so much user-generated content, we wanted a function that gives players an extra layer of privacy and control. Joke Boat is a head-to-head joke writing competition. You can turn off the America questions! Yep, that means that if you toggle the “Filter US-centric Questions” button in Settings, you won’t get any questions about our weird version of football. We also listened to our international audience and delivered on a cool new function. We added all-new trivia, a load of new minigames, and a whole new backdrop (ever been to a haunted murder hotel?). We brought back fan-favorite Trivia Murder Party and we’ve called it - ingeniously - Trivia Murder Party 2. And we’d like to highlight a few of those here! Each game has a new mechanic, core concept, or function that we’ve never tried before. How is that possible? Well, just like a healthy marriage or the veggie crisper in your fridge, we keep things fresh. We’re on Party Pack 6 this year (available for PS4 tomorrow, October 17) and we’re more excited than ever about this set of games. Hi, gang! We here at Jackbox Games make five party games a year and release them in a pack called - ingeniously - The Jackbox Party Pack. ![]() 5/6/2023 0 Comments Systems architect![]() ![]() But a major thrust of the Amazon API-first mandate was to reduce the costs incurred from developing duplicate capabilities in multiple systems. ![]() So far, the primary effect of any API-first mandate has been to make developers ensure they document their APIs and publicize them. The basic thrust of the rant is that all capabilities should be exposed on the network through APIs to both promote integration and to minimize the amount of duplicative functionality the enterprise is producing (and paying for). This is often referred to as the “application Programming interface (API)-first philosophy.” The most famous example of the API-first philosophy is probably the missive that has come to be known as “ the Steve Yegge rant,” where he chides Google for not adopting the Amazon philosophy of API-first design. Most enterprise integration efforts today focus on making system interfaces publicly available. While it did not take the form originally envisioned, the SOA revolution most definitely happened. The entire cloud computing revolution is really just the conversion of computing hardware to an on-demand service. ![]() In a similar fashion, comment threads, social media integration, user statistics, and many other functions are also offered as services. If you run a web site and want to authenticate users before you allow them to access all features of the site, you do not need to host your own authentication subsystem-you can just use one of those offered as services. For example, Facebook, Google, and others all offer authentication services. Many capabilities are available as services, and they are being used by more enterprises. But also like many hyped technologies, a decade after the hype has died down, we are seeing real benefits of the SOA philosophy. ![]() Like many widely hyped new technologies, SOA never quite lived up to its initial promises. SOA promised an era of dynamically composable applications that could be adapted to new business needs as they emerged, without the need to re-code applications. A “service” is nothing more than a well-defined interface to some desired capability. The basic idea of SOA was that capability providers would make their offerings available as services that could be invoked by any application on the network. This led to the development of service-oriented architecture (SOA). It did not take long to realize that entering the same data into different systems was time-consuming and error-prone, so we began to try and integrate systems so they could share data. The next major effect of networks on the evolution of system architecture was the desire to integrate systems. Systems were no longer monoliths that were deployed in one place and used from a fixed set of terminals but were spread out over a potentially large geographic area. The emergence of the client-server architecture as the dominant design pattern made it necessary to include network interfaces. System architecture practices began to change as networked systems became more common in the 1990s. That patter has been changing in recent years, but the rate of change is increasing. For the past few decades, system architecture has been like building architecture: Decide what the system needs to do, identify the major subsystems that are needed and how they wi8ll connect, and continue decomposing until there is enough detail for development teams to build out each subsystem and integrate them to create the desired system. Whether we recognize it or not, system architecture is evolving. ![]() 5/6/2023 0 Comments Equalizer settings![]() ![]()

Serato DJ enters the fray, and Rekordbox is vying for status as a DJ platform. The smart functionality provided by beaTunes enables you to create playlists, with accurate information about your songs.Since our last key detection software square-off almost two years ago, we’ve seen new iterations of DJ software continue to incorporate key analysis. While using the software's trial version, you can not fix any issues after you inspect your files. The software allows you to create and save playlists or generate smart matchlists. You may correct misspells or wrong tag information with a single click. You can either click and drag your files to a playlist, on the left side of the window, or make a few configurations, to create a matchlist.īeaTunes is capable of retrieving a vast range of information from online sources. When you are done analyzing or inspecting your audio files and making the necessary corrections, you may create and save a playlist. beaTunes can use online sources to find artist or album names, years, genres, to estimate bitrates, determine colors, import lyrics and more. Before starting the process, you may choose what information to look up. The Analysis feature can be used to retrieve a broad range of information for each audio file. Besides issues, beaTunes also displays a few possible solutions and you may select one and click a button to apply it. You may find general issues, consistency, spelling, sorting or title related issues. The results are organized in separate folders, depending on their nature. The software can analyze audio files almost instantly. You can also use keywords to filter your files. A few options are available on a toolbar, which you can use to analyze or inspect the selected audio files or add them to a matchlist. Libraries, playlists, inspection results and other items are displayed as different folders, on the left side of the interface. You can select a folder on a local partition or an iTunes library file as the source. You may create one or more music libraries on the program's general settings panel. The setup wizard will install the software's files in less than a minute, so you can start using beaTunes right away. Fortunately, the setup procedure does not involve anything more than agreeing to a series of terms and conditions and selecting a destination folder. If you are using a slower Internet connection, you may spend some time downloading the 72 MB installation file. Everything is done automatically, so you just need to select your music library, make a few adjustments and let the program work. Besides creating smart playlists, beaTunes can inspect your audio tracks for any issues, analyze their metadata, import new information and more. A rock song may be labeled as classical music, an artist's name can be spelled differently for each track and so on. You can encounter numerous issues when it comes to your music's tag information. Creating a playlist takes only a few seconds with any application, but you may waste valuable time if you want to make sure that your audio files contain the correct information. ![]() 5/6/2023 0 Comments Endurance car warranty reviews![]() ![]() I bought a policy from them in March 2021. They refuse to tell me how much will be refunded, until we send in the cancellation form.I do not trust them, and feel that they will use the cancellation form as our acceptance of whatever pro-rated amount that THEY choose to refund to us. IMHO, this constitutes a breach of contract, and all fees collected should be refunded. They offered to "correct" the mileage discrepancy, but will not cover any repairs until ANOTHER one month/1000 mile interval takes place, and the current needed repair would NOT be covered. Either mileage number is WELL BEYOND the "one month/1000 miles" restriction that Endurance requires, before any service will be covered. It turns out that the dealer put the mileage number on our purchase agreement from when THEY bought the vehicle at auction, and used a slightly higher number (about 150 miles higher) when they listed it on CARFAX. We had an issue with noisy axle bearings, but when the repair shop checked with Endurance, the claim was denied, due to a "mileage discrepancy". Fast-forward 2-1/2+ years, and several thousand miles. ![]() My wife asked if the mileage number from the purchase agreement of a few days previous would be acceptable. Everything that breaks down in a car can be caused by normal wear and tear. The rest was not covered because it was "normal wear and tear"?!. It turned out that the only thing they covered was the ball bearing. Well, I told them that there is a $100 deductible but that I have "coverage". A broken ball bearing, a malfunctioning brake caliper and a belt that needed to be replaced. I paid my $137 a month and felt secure that I would not be facing a huge unexpected car repair bill again.Ībout 6 months later my car needed repairs. This package would cover pretty much "everything". I was told that they were a serious company unlike the rest of the other companies in the market. I am filing a suit against this company tomorrow. The valve seat could not cause the timing chain guide to brake. They are now saying that the valve seat is a seal and not covered. The valve guide seats are an internally lubricated part which they claim all internally lubricated parts of the engine are covered. Endurance is claiming that the failing valve guide seats caused the timing chain guides to break and are denying the claim. The inspector told the mechanic that the engine looked good and agreed about the timing issue as well as the valve guide seats being damaged. They had an inspector come look at the engine. After showing them the failed timing chain guides they had him remove the heads. Endurance had the mechanic remove the engine. After researching this is a common failure. My car an audi S4 convertible has an issue where the timing chain guide has failed. The mechanic said he has never felt with such a bad company.
